Head of Human Resources

Salary: £70,000 per annum

Based in Surrey

We are currently recruiting for a Head of Human Resources with emphasis on organisational development for a great company based in Surrey. In this role you will play a pivotal role in enabling the delivery of excellent services by developing and driving a high-performance HR team, and deliver strategic initiatives into successful workplace practice.

Person Specification: –

•Full Member of CIPD Level 7 (desirable)

•Educated to degree level or equivalent

•Evidence of CPD

•Ability to travel to other business locations

•Experience of strategic management of HR & OD, successfully developing and implementing change within a customer-facing organisation, track record of delivery

•Experience of dealing with difficult situations to propose and implement successful and creative solutions

•Able to successfully inspire and lead a small HR function independently

•Supporting and working alongside the HR Operations Manager

•Ability to deliver effective performance management and improvements against challenging targets

•Able to translate strategy and employment legislation into practice suited to the culture

•Up to date knowledge of development and training and frameworks and their development and implementation

•Ability to ensure that all staff and customers are afforded equality of opportunity through a practice of valuing diversity in the work place

•Ability to prioritise demanding workload with a full understanding of the need to delegate effectively

Key Responsibilities: –

•Provide strong and supportive leadership to the HR team, ensuring an ethos of shared responsibility and the provision of a high profile professional HR service to the whole organisation

•To contribute to formative discussions to ensure HR, OD and Facilities matters are incorporated into decision-making at strategic and operational levels in all areas of resourcing, developing, rewarding, exiting, adding and creating value, and policy.

•Produce the annual HR & OD Service Plan aligned with the Companies’ Corporate Plan

•Produce, monitor and control budgets and obtain best value for money across the HR & OD and Facilities functions

•Formulate, lead and implement organisational change projects and programmes that lead to improved quality of service and corporate performance to meet business objectives.

•Provide professional and employment law advice to the Board, the Executive Team and managers on all people management and organisational development matterss

•Produce, monitor and review HR Policies and Procedures on a regular basis, reflecting any changes in relevant legislation or best practice

•Develop and manage the Group’s employee consultative framework, acting as management representative, lead on all consultations with the Staff Panel, ensuring partnership working is developed and that excellent employee relations are maintained

•Produce, cost and evaluate the annual Development and Training Plan to meet the needs of the business as identified through ongoing performance management, skills development and succession planning

•Set, maintain and develop a framework for the development of pay, terms and conditions of service and non-pay reward initiatives within which managers can achieve the flexible deployment of staff; recruit and retain high quality staff and reward staff appropriately for their contribution to the achievement of the company’s strategic direction and Corporate Plan
