PQ Finance Manager – ACCA/ACA/CIMA

An opportunity has arisen for a bright, committed and adaptable accountant to join a small team as Finance Manager. The post holder will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will be a committed self-starter, able to work on their own initiative in a fast-paced environment as a key member of a small and friendly team.

The Finance Manager is responsible for the day-to-day financial management of the company and project work. Management of the cash flow of the company, including the completion and authorisation of payments, is a key aspect.

  • Prepare accounts and liaise with external accountants
  • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as accounts payable, invoicing, petty cash, company card transactions and other transactions
  • Oversee financial department employees and colleagues assisting with posting and reconciling financial information
  • Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports
  • Present financial reports to board members, stakeholders, executives, and clients in formal meetings
  • Ensure compliance with deadlines for filing of:
    – Accounts
    – Corporation Tax
    – VAT
    – Confirmation statements
  • Provide input to financial policies and procedures for the company
  • Manage Inter-Company postings, transfers and reconciliations
  • Adhere to financial regulations, professional standards and legislation.

Finance Manager Skills and Qualifications:

  • Professional qualification in accountancy from a recognised body or association
  • Batchelor’s degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field preferred;
  • Ability to work in a team by taking on the role of subject matter expert for Finance and to support colleagues with advice and decisive action
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a complex workload
  • Understanding of data privacy standards
  • Solid communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Deep understanding of business principles and practices
