Events Team Leader, Salary £25,000-£28,000 per annum

Based in Surrey.

Contract Type:  Permanent / Full Time  

We are currently recruiting for an Events Registration Team Leader to work within a leading events organisation in Surrey. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who has supervised a small delegate management team within the events industry.

The role requires managing the team to ensure the team are hitting important deadlines and targets surrounding this role and the events. You will also be required to develop different areas of the participant facing content and ensure the team develop with the needs of the customers. The role requires management skills, customer services skills and data preparation skills. It is important that the candidate is confident in the above enough to train others in these areas.

This aspect of the role is operational as you will be expected to get stuck into the organisation of that aspect of events. You will need to have a full understanding of the business and events to carry this role out to it’s full potential.

Person specification:

  • Ability to manage and develop other colleagues
  • Excellent written skills with experience of writing informal customer-facing content
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and data handling skills
  • Highly precise attention to detail
  • Ability to deal with challenging customers and situations
  • Empathy with the Human Race customers
  • Good judgement skills, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to changing situations and needs

 Key responsibilities:  

  • To oversee events budgets, to monitor and reduce spend
  • To manage key delegate suppliers such as timing, fulfilment and online registration
  • To train and develop the delegate management team
  • To be an office- based interface with competitors answering phone calls and emails.
  • Manage event day participants data and preparation for the event participants
  • Develop relationships within the business, suppliers and event participants.
  • To attend events managing the customer service helpdesk
  • To lead on the development of merchandise sector
  • To manage the participant prize system
  • To oversee participant email communication and web content
