Business Manager

Our client is looking for a Business Manager with good man management, customer service and project management skills to lead a team  which consists of  administrators and coordinators, mainly part time. You will be responsible for managing and developing the team to achieve their full potential, and supporting the Head of Quality Improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for the recruitment, induction and development of the Administration Team
  • To support the Administration Team in dealing with advisory issues to ensure consistency and quality of advice
  • To ensure that the team is working to its full potential
  • To liaise with the Head of Quality Improvement about issues such as conduct, capability and ill health, work performance, employee relations, and recruitment and selection in relation to members of the Administration Team
  • To monitor and authorise overtime and expense claims by Administration Team members
  • To support the Head of Quality Improvement with new developments/projects and the collection and analysis of data
  • To support audits and evaluation for improvement
  • To record office expenditure and manage the administration budget within the budget agreed
  • To delegate responsibility for the purchasing of resources and equipment to the appropriate team members ensuring adequate processes
  • To monitor the processing of invoices ensuring they are coded and authorised in a timely manner
  • Formulate and organise induction programmes for new staff
  • Maintain accurate training records of staff, as well as development requirements for staff
  • Monitor the departmental rota, identify and address to staffing requirements, ensuring work is appropriately allocated and cover provided for annual leave/sickness

Person Specification

  • Educated to a degree level
  • Ideally project management qualifications
  • Experience in managing change whilst also maintaining and developing a high level of work
  • Experience of working with databases
  • Experience of working in a busy environment
