HR ADVISOR

SURBITON, SURREY

Up to £32,000 per annum

A local provider of education and care services has a new opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor within the Surbiton, Surrey area. Reporting to the Human Resources Business Partner, this role is an independent role that will be responsible for providing HR support in an advisory capacity.

Duties include:

  • Providing advice on HR in relation to absence management, disciplinaries and grievances
  • Advising managers and driving through decisions
  • Performance management and probationary management.
  • Travelling is required to cover the office in Croydon therefore must be a car driver
  • You will also take the lead on compensation requirements for the business
  • Ideally looking for someone who can handle a varied and complex caseload.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Advising Managers on the interpretation and application of existing HR policies, processes and procedures.
  • Recommend appropriate courses of action on employee relations issues including handling.
  • Take the lead in the management of compensation and benefits requirements across the business.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of performance targets and initiatives to reduce absences.
  • Ensure that accurate and current HR records are maintained and to be responsible for providing management information.
  • Work independently and occasionally as part of the senior HR team to review and maintain HR policy documents, staff handbooks and employee contracts.

The successful candidate must:

  • CIPD Level 5 in Human Resource Practice & demonstrable comprehension of employment law and HR best practice
  • Car driver – own car – open to aspects of travelling to multiple sites
  • Be able to able to work independently
  • 3-5 years operational experience working in an advisory capacity with managers at varying levels of experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
  • Experience of reporting and presenting information at a senior level.
  • All applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS Check.
